Bar / Bat Mitzvah

Although merly turning 13 makes a son or daughter a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, if they want to celebrate this life cycle event by reading from Torah and with Congregation Bet Chaim, they have a year or more of specialized training. A typical Mitzvah student is required to:

• Learn to read his/her Torah portion
• Perform a mitzvah project
• Learn the blessings used during a Shabbat Service
• Lead a Shabbat Service with their family as "practice" for their celebration.
