Outreach
The definition
of Outreach is continuously evolving, and so is our congregation.
Outreach is part of our synagogue's philosophy that we welcome the
stranger. We embrace everyone into our congregation and invite and
respect choices. We do this through programming, events, socializing
and, very simply, by knowing you.
- We welcome
interfaith families to explore Judaism and encourage you to be
part of synagogue life. Bet Chaim is a family, and you are part
of that family too. We help interfaith families to honor both
Jewish and non-Jewish traditions. Mostly we want everyone to feel
comfortable and welcome at services, at events, in the halls,
at committee meetings, always.
- We welcome
non-traditional families. We are sensitive to the changing world
and recognize that family means many things to many people. We
can share stories, success, struggles and friendship.
- We want
to encourage and guide Jews-by-choice as they integrate into the
Jewish community and the synagogue. We work alongside our clergy
as Jews-by-choice discover new journeys.
We are here to assist people in strengthening their Jewish identity.
- We are responsible,
along with our clergy and lay leaders, in sensitizing our congregation
to the needs and concerns of interfaith and non-traditional families
