Membership
Thank you for
inquiring about Congregation Bet Chaim. We are a small Reform Jewish
congregation located in Seminole county. We strive to create an
atmosphere rich in tradition that observes our Jewish beliefs and
develops a community of fellowship, especially among our interfaith
members. People make the difference in our congregation.
Shabbat services
are held every Friday night at 8 PM with the exception of the first
Friday of the month, which is Family Service night. The Family Service
begins at 7:30 PM. Children are always welcome at all Shabbat services;
however, the Family Service is written especially for them. Singing
and guitar playing are also a routine part of our lay-led services.
During the High Holy Days, services are conducted by a Rabbi. Visiting
Rabbis also join us at other times during the year to celebrate
Shabbat and other special events.
Our Religious
School offers a comprehensive Judaic and prayer Hebrew studies program.
Classes are held Sunday mornings throughout the religious school
year.
Our members
are actively involved in Temple life. Several committees represent
all facets of our congregation including Social, Religious School,
Rituals, and Communications, to name a few. These committees are
the heartbeat of our congregation and they are what make it possible
for a small congregation such as ours to offer such a variety of
activity and opportunity for involvement.
Congregation
Bet Chaim has added a speaker program at which a community leader
presents a topic during Shabbat. It has been a welcome enhancement
to our services several times a year. Additionally a Singles group
and our Seniors group has formed in the last year during which members
get together once every four to six weeks for socializing, bingo
or brunch.
The dues structure
for membership is affordable and serves the diverse needs of our
community. It is comprised of yearly dues and a five-year building
fund commitment. We will be happy to discuss cost with you should
you have questions or require additional information.
Please join
us for a Shabbat service in the near future to see what we
are all about. We would be happy to have you as a member of
our Temple family!
