Statement
Congregation Bet Chaim,
established as a response to individual needs, is committed
to a Reform approach in expressing Jewish identity.
Bet Chaim
is a religious community of dedicated and compassionate Jews,
enriched by each member’s care for one another and for
our Jewish Heritage. We believe that membership is synonymous
with involvement; our members demonstrate their commitment
by participation in all facets of temple activities including
ritual, service, education and self-growth.
Bet Chaim’s
focus is on individual and family participation in religious
observances. We strive to provide meaningful educational experiences
for members of all ages. We seek to promote continuity by
teaching, learning, and integrating observances which lead
toward Jewish growth and enrichment.
Our goal
is not merely to exist as Jews, but to live as Jews. We make
every effort to translate traditional values and beliefs into
our daily lives. Torah (study), Avoda (worship), Tzedaka (charity)
and Ma’asim Tovim (good deeds) are part of our applied
consciousness, not merely academic concepts.
L’dor
V’dor (from generation to generation), Bet Chaim will
be committed to perpetuating an environment that is supportive
of individual merit and Torah based values.
